Tallin

We took the Ferry from Helsinki to Tallin.
After approx. 2h we arrived in Tallin.

Tallin has a great old town:

During our stay, the 25th anniversary of the Estonian Independance Day was celebrated !

(Backstage waiting participants of the TV show)

Summary: Tallin is one of the most beautiful cities on this planet.
(It's already on the UNESCO wold heritage list that has more than 1000 entries. But Tallin should be in a Top 10 or so...)

Finding of the day....

Helsinki Day 2

It is really hard to do a selection of all the impressive sites and photos of Helsinki.

Helsinki has various faces. Design is present everywhere.

City beach of Helsinki:

If you walk the streets. the architectural styles my change between every house:

 City center Helsinki:

We had a great time in the Helsinki National Art Museum:

They had a workshop for copying persons with by using a window and a pen....

After that we've been at the "Systober Beer festival".

Tasty food and beer !

Finding of the day: There are people who outsource really everything :

Helsinki is a great City and really worth a visit !

Helsinki Day 1

Weather became worse. So we did not stay as long in the north as initially intended.
Time to go south to visit Helsinki !

Esplanad parks :

Stone turtles appear often in Helsinki. After some search we found out that is seems not to be a historic thing. (City arms....)
It just that they find stone turtles as barriers nicer than stone columns etc.

If you are in Helsinki, think about buying the "City Card". (For 24h our 48h..)
It provides free public transport and a lot of free attractios. Like museums or boat trips to the islands in front of Helsinki:

After the boad trip we went to the old market:

And then to the City museum:

Design is just everywhere in Helsinki.

The City museum houses a lot about the city's history....

..that is (partially) presented in 3D:

And there is also a quite weird exhibition:

The exhibits and their texts descibe how the item stands for a (broken) relationships.

The stories are from sad to funny. One example of the ones I likes most:

Behind the City museum there is the Senators place and the cathedral of Helsinki:

How many bikes need the same ....?

 Time for some Lapish food:

 (Reindeer steak)
 (Iced cranberries)
