Bergen and Bryggen

Bergen is the 2nd biggest city of Norway and start of the Hurtigrouten lines to the north.

Probably most famous in Bergen is "Bryggen", the former German Hanse Kontor:

 

The Hanse museum can be recommended since it's offering very informative guidance.



The Hanse Kontor  successfully traded mainly dry fish into grain for more than 400 years:


At peak times more than 4000  (!) merchants worked in Bergen during these times.

Across  from Bryggen the meat (and fish) market resides:



 Of course the prices at the market are beyond of what you usually are willing to pay.
